INTRODUCTION
The TEBA Foundation is a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) that aims to make a meaningful and lasting impact in the communities we implement programmes within. With 120 years’ experience servicing communities, we have been intimately involved in providing health and community development services to communities we work with. As an NPO with a working relationship with TEBA (Pty) Ltd, the Foundation has access to a broad range of skills, competencies and infrastructure to support its vision and mandate.
The Foundation focuses on the following key competencies:
The Foundation focuses on the following key competencies:
Health Services
As part of our health services offering, we provide TB support services including, Directly Observed Treatment Short-course (DOTS), linkages to public health facilities for continuity of care and contact tracing, screening and referrals. Home-based care (HBC) services are provided to medically boarded individuals due to terminal illness and/or permanent disability.
The homes of permanently disabled individuals are also adapted to suit their new requirements through our home adaptation service. Through the chronic service, TEBA links chronically ill individuals to public health facilities as and when required and provides home delivery of chronic medication to those that are unable to collect their medication from health facilities.
In addition to home-based health services, donor funding over the years has enabled us to operate three Points of Care (PoC) clinics in Lesotho providing primary health care. Pointed health information provision and linkages to other associated services becomes important to ensure sustainable delivery of integrated health and wellness services.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
We manage a variety of development projects on behalf of our clients from identification, implementation monitoring and evaluation as shown below:
Water Infrastructure Rehabilitation
Improving the living conditions of communities especially in rural areas through access to drinking water is one of the key priorities of the Foundation. The main objective is to contribute, in a sustainable manner, to the improvement of access to drinking water services in targeted communities. This initiative seeks to improve the living conditions of the beneficiaries through the rehabilitation and better management of community water infrastructure and its associated community structures. The identification and construction of 10 Boreholes in the Gaza and Maputo provinces of Mozambique is just but one example of this initiative.
Construction of Community Infrastructure
Community infrastructure is a human development imperative in South Africa. This will ensure quality education for citizens, which will help improve the unemployment rate, alleviate poverty and ensure economic growth. Strong community infrastructure not only improves the physical beauty of a neighbourhood but impacts the health status of its members.
Construction of 8 school administration blocks including a whole school development program and improvement of household nutrition through the creation of household subsistence gardens in Thabazimbi (Limpopo) is one example of such initiatives. Home remodeling for the disabled is also a very important infrastructure improvement initiative for the Foundation.

Community Research and Project Identification
Given our presence in, and understanding of the communities we serve, the TEBA Foundation is able to identify socio, economic and infrastructure needs of communities that fall within industry specific (Mining, Construction etc) and global developmental frameworks.
